Binjew Tiers performed with a group of young Woorabinda dancers for those returning home after an eight day trek. In the 1920s, at both the old Taroom Aboriginal Settlement and the Woorabinda Aboriginal Settlement, conditions were tough with poor sanitary facilities, limited food rations and harsh working conditions. The death rate was high due to frequent outbreaks of diseases such as influenza and gastroenteritis.
